Hi, I’m Catherine Burton - founder of ‘My Personal Assistant’ - an outsourcing practice that provides remote, administrative support to individuals, families, and businesses.

Half of my practice is dedicated to helping entrepreneurs reclaim their time via administrative support, while the other half is dedicated to helping families find peace of mind through end-of-life planning.

Connecting over 25 years of high-level administrative, marketing, and operational experience with personal values of integrity and empathy, I offer a range of support plans which aim to ease pressure, streamline processes, and ease any worry that comes with running a business or communicating your end-of life wishes to loved ones.

I spent years not only worrying that my own affairs and those of my family were not in order, but I also worried about not knowing what someone’s wishes were when they passed away...

Would they want a traditional funeral, a cremation, or an eco-friendly service; would they prefer to have songs or hymns; prayers or reflections; would they want people dressed in bright colours or dark; would they want a celebration or something more solemn; what about their financial affairs; who would look after their dog....

The list grew and grew and I quickly realised there were so many questions to consider and sensitive conversations to have. And so, for both my own peace of mind and a genuine desire to help others, I decided to do something about this concern, and set up my bespoke end-of-life planning service.

End-of-Life Care Planning

The Goal: Replace "the feared" with a roadmap of peace.

I built this service because I wanted to create for others what I desperately needed for myself: a way to move from fear to control. This isn't clinical; it’s deeply human.

  • The Peace of Mind Folder: Organizing vital documents (financial, legal, and medical) into one accessible place.

  • Legacy & "Soft Wishes": Documenting the personal details—from pet care to final celebrations—that legal documents often miss.

  • Digital Estate Management: Securing passwords and digital legacies so nothing is lost.

  • Family Communication: Providing the structure needed to have difficult conversations with clarity and love.

Why it works: I understand the vulnerability involved. I handle the "scary" admin so that you and your family can feel a little lighter, knowing everything is in order.

I set up my Virtual Assistant practice because I genuinely love organising. Where others see a cluttered inbox or a disjointed workflow, I see a puzzle waiting to be solved. There is a deep sense of satisfaction for me in taking a messy process and turning it into a streamlined system.

Having 25 years of high-level administrative experience means I don’t just “complete tasks” - I anticipate needs, I problem-solve, I streamline, I organise, I make sure nothing falls in between the cracks.

I handle the heavy lifting of the admin so you can concentrate on growing your business.

My Story

People often ask how I move so seamlessly between business spreadsheets and end-of-life portfolios.

The truth is that, for a long time, the idea of “the end” filled me with fear. I worried about the what ifs, the messy paperwork, the unspoken wishes, and the burden of leaving affairs in disorder. I realised that the only cure for that anxiety was clarity, which meant…taking action.

Whether I’m managing a CEO’s inbox or a family’s end-of-life plan, I believe that being organised is the greatest gift you can give to your team and your loved ones.

Business Admin & Operations

The Goal: Clear the "overwhelming" so your team can breathe.

I approach business administration as an act of kindness. By handling the "boring" but essential heavy lifting, I allow you to focus on the work you love.

  • Inbox & Calendar Mastery: Taming the chaos to give you your time back.

  • Process Documentation: Creating clear roadmaps so your business runs smoothly.

  • Operational Systems: Setting up the digital tools that turn "messy paperwork" into streamlined systems.

  • Executive Support: Handling the high-stakes details that keep a startup moving.

Why it works: I bring a level of empathy and calm to business growth that traditional assistants often lack. I don't just "do tasks"; I create space for you to lead.
